Week One: ADAM ELLIOT

Adam Elliot is known as an auteur film maker, the style he shows in his animation is instantly recognisable. He bases his stories off of family members and realistic characters with complex lives, making his animations more suited to an adult audience. In "Mary and Max" there are muted colour schemes that portray the sobering and tragic lives of the characters as well as creating a difference in temperature between the two geographical locations. Elliot's use of expression and subtle movement is very well planned and masterful, allowing him to have slow scenes with little action without them looking empty or boring.
