Each week we must complete a one second animation.
Originally I wanted to produce a cartwheel but to fit it smoothly in 25 frames I decided to do a flip instead. I found some parts to be too fast so I doubled the frames where I thought it was necessary. I think it's a decent first attempt but the line art is a little shaky. For me, the monkey comes across well as a character as I used squash and stretch techniques to give him more expressive movement.

Week One: ADAM ELLIOT
Adam Elliot is known as an auteur film maker, the style he shows in his animation is instantly recognisable. He bases his stories off of family members and realistic characters with complex lives, making his animations more suited to an adult audience. In "Mary and Max" there are muted colour schemes that portray the sobering and tragic lives of the characters as well as creating a difference in temperature between the two geographical locations. Elliot's use of expression and subtle movement is very well planned and masterful, allowing him to have slow scenes with little action without them looking empty or boring.
